Connecting Hearts and Conversations: The Family of Authors

Meet Our Family

We believe in being honest about where we’ve been in communication with our parents, children, friends, or other relationships. Encouraging life, love, and laughter in your family is our goal! We help moms and dads feel like they can have a good relationship with their sons and daughters and to give and receive appreciation and affirmation. We help families start conversations when they don’t know what to say. We want kids to feel valued for who they are and learn how to talk with their friends and even tell a few jokes to bring joy and smiles in their connections with others.

How do you open up your heart for conversations with friends and family, especially when you’ve been hurt or ignored?

We provide resources for all aspects of conversations and relationships. Whether you’re just trying to make a new friend, bring some humor to your life (or others), or deal with some weighty issues, we want you to feel empowered and encouraged from a family who has initiated hard conversations, repaired our family line, and learned to talk with friends even when our hearts hurt. With God’s help, we can bring life, love, and laughter to ourselves and our friendships and relationships!

CALYN DANIEL, along with her mother Blythe, wants to help teen and tween girls in conversations with friends and developing the right friendships. They have co-authored Let’s Be Friends: A Tween Devotional on Finding and Keeping Strong Friendships.

Calyn enjoys spending time with her friends and family, including older sister, Maris, and her twin brother, William. She is a competitive gymnast, an oboist, and likes to cook. She has included some of her favorite recipes and activities to do with friends in her book. WILLIAM DANIEL enjoys making people laugh. He has come up with over 500 puns, riddles, and knock knock jokes that have brought smiles and high fives from friends and families who have read his books. He believes if kids can share a few jokes, it can help them make friends and ease conversations.  He wrote some devotions and all of the jokes in I Love You, Dad!. He is a competitive gymnast and plays three different saxophones and entertains his family with his humor and music.

William loves to bring laughter and levity to situations. He’s also a deep soul who brings wisdom and maturity that God has given him to share in conversations.
